The Grand Saloon has been a cherished part of Clifton’s history, and under the stewardship of the DeMicco brothers, it’s stepping into a vibrant new era. Acquired in November 2023, the establishment underwent a complete transformation, blending its nostalgic charm with a fresh, modern touch. Officially reopening the end of October 2024, The Grand Saloon is proud to serve the Clifton community once again.

A Family Connection to Clifton

For Andrew and his brother Joel, reopening The Grand Saloon was more than a business venture—it was deeply personal. With roots firmly planted in the community, their late mother, Eileen, was a beloved biology teacher at Clifton High School for over 15 years. Her legacy of connection and care inspired the brothers to bring the restaurant back to life, creating a space that honors the past while looking toward the future.

A Legacy of Culinary Excellence

The DeMicco brothers are no strangers to the restaurant world. With a proven track record of success as the owners of Harvest and Ale in Oakland, The Pizza Plank Co. in Saddle Brook, and Heights Bar and Grill in Hasbrouck Heights, they bring a wealth of experience to their latest venture in Clifton. Their vision for The Grand Saloon is to celebrate the community’s shared memories while offering elevated food, drinks, and service.

The New Grand Saloon

The Grand Saloon isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a hub for gathering and celebration. Key features of the revamped space include:

• A fully renovated private party room perfect for special occasions, fundraisers, and more.
• Modern upgrades like a state-of-the-art draft system, high-definition TVs, and a refreshed bar area.
• Events including Happy Hour from 3-6pm weekdays, Trivia Nights coming soon on Wednesdays at 8pm, and acoustic music nights.

Patrons can look forward to a rotating cocktail menu, carefully selected beer taps, and a culinary experience that combines classic comfort with fresh, modern flavors.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the reopening has been reconnecting with the community. Longtime patrons often share their memories of The Grand Saloon, which helped inspire the brothers to retain the iconic name. We could build any sort of bar or restaurant, but instead we visualized what The Grand Saloon could be in its grandest form and just did that,” Andrew says. “For a long time, we have wanted to do something in Clifton — it’s just a great place — and an opportunity finally arose.”
